National Association of Federal Retirees - PeelHalton.org
The Peel-Halton and area Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees has about 1,500 members. We are a non-profit organization whose main mission is "...to advocate measures beneficial to retirees and future retirees of the Public Service of Canada, the Canadian Forces, the RCMP and other federal agencies; to oppose measures inimical to them; and to participate in the development of social policies and programs for seniors."

Almost all of the local work is carried out by volunteers through its Board of Directors consisting of retired public servants. We support the work of our National Association by representing our members at national symposia, seminars, conferences and information gathering processes in order to convey member needs to the national body.

Feel free to contact current Board of Director members with your queries or to enquire about National Association of Federal Retirees Membership.
From time to time your Board is requested to submit nominations, of members meriting special recognition, to the National Office or to Provincial or National Government bodies.

For example, the Province of Ontario conducts an annual nomination process in order to award the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship. If you feel that a particular member should be recognized for outstanding community or other achievement then please send a letter or e-mail to any of your Board Directors. Please be sure to include some particulars or reasons in support of your submission.

Your feedback is invited. The by-laws will be tabled for review and adoption by our membership at our May 2016 Annual Membership meeting.

Occasionally it is suggested that you invoke the assistance of your Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) on issues affecting your retirement (pension benefits, retirement benefits or other matters that can directly affect you). To assist you we have prepared a list of current representatives for ridings located in or touching on our Branch area. Where applicable we will also provide a brief overview of an issue and, in some instances, suggested wording for an e-Mail or regular Mail message.
