Branch Annual General Membership Meeting, May 11, 2017...

Dear Members:

The Peel Halton and Area Branch of the NAFR will be holding its Annual General Membership Meeting
on Thursday May 11, 2017
at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall
35 Brunel Road Mississauga, ON L4Z 3E8.

The meeting will start at 10:00 am.

Special Notes: Your Board has invited Mr. Mike Filey, a noted local author and radio personality, who will take us down memory lane, highlighting changes in Toronto over the past 40 or more years. More information is included in the above noted Invitation document.

2017 Branch Board of Directors Elections: There will be some changes in the composition of our Branch this year, consequently we will be looking for volunteers to fill ensuing vacancies to ensure that the Peel Halton and area branch continues to be an active component of the National Association of Federal Retirees. We have had great support by our members in the past and we hope that this will continue to be the case in the future.

We will have particular need of assistance in modernizing our website and in looking at other "Social Media" modernization tools that will help us communicate with you, our members, more effectively and efficiently.

Interested persons should contact any branch board members so they could be phased into branch activities and, where appropriate, receive sufficient mentoring prior to next year’s board elections.

As usual, the meeting will be followed by a buffet lunch that will include vegetarian menu items.

Note: There is no charge to attend the meeting and all members are very welcome to attend the General Meeting. There is no obligation to stay for the meal.

However, if you wish to join us for lunch, your cost is $10.00 per person pre-paid or $23.00 at the door. Non-members will be charged the full price of $25.00 per person.

...your Board of Directors is always receptive to member suggestions concerning additional, supplementary, and special information meetings. Just let us know if you perceive a need for such special meetings. Meetings could cover topics such as pension benefits, health care etc. Your board will consider such recommendations, subject to the branch's ability to muster the necessary financial resources and the availability of speakers.
