The Peel-Halton and area Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees has
about 1,500 members. We are a non-profit organization whose main mission is
"...to advocate measures beneficial to retirees and future retirees of the Public Service of Canada,
the Canadian Forces, the RCMP and other federal agencies; to oppose measures inimical to them; and to
participate in the development of social policies and programs for seniors."|
Almost all of the local work is carried out by volunteers through its Board of Directors consisting
of retired public servants. We support the work of our
National Association by representing our members at national symposia, seminars, conferences
and information gathering processes in order to convey member needs to the national body.

For example, the Province of Ontario conducts an annual nomination process in order to award the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship.
If you feel that a particular member should be recognized for outstanding community or other achievement
